10 years ago, my husband died so I had to get a solicitor to sort out his estate and she recommended Nick to me to sort out the financial side of things. I instantly took a liking to Nick, he came across to me as a very sincere and genuine person and I have found that to be true.

He suggested that I put my money in an area where it would make money and also provide an income and I haven’t looked back. I completely trust Nick with my affairs and if I need to discuss anything with him, I can always get him by phone or he will come and see me if I want him too. He has a very professional way about him and he’s a good listener especially when I moan & groan!

I thoroughly recommend him to anybody that needs financial help.

Mrs Patricia Franklin

A client of direct for several years, I have been very satisfied with the services that they have offered. These have been consistently dependable and attentive to my requirements.

The regular, friendly one-to-one meetings have been well prepared. The consultations have shown an understanding of my family situation and have been sympathetic to my financial outlook.

The advice given has been objective and seems to have been based on thorough research, alert to changes in the general economic climate and to the advent of new financial products.

Direct Independent Financial Consultants have been immensely helpful to me in sorting out my financial affairs over the last 15 years. They are always considerate, give advice in terms understandable to the complete layman, and take trouble to see that any investments made provide the best returns for specific conditions.

Telephone communications are dealt with in a friendly ,courteous manner. In addition, it has always been a pleasure to receive their home visits: these are conducted in a relaxed, unhurried way, with relevant material well prepared. I recommend this firm strongly to anyone seeking financial advice.

Bill White

I was about 40 years of age when I first consulted Nick. I was bringing up my family, working hard and knew little about financial services and hadn't really thought about management of my finances with a view to the future. Retirement was still a long way off and it seemed not that important at the time. I now know differently! A colleague at work suggested that I might like to have my finances 'sorted out'.

Once I had ascertained what a Financial Adviser does, I felt that a person who knew what to do with my finances would be of great use and take a burden off my shoulders. By then, I had set my sights on retiring early at the age of 60.

Nick is related to my former work colleague and it was she who introduced us. I had always thought shy of large organisations and their self-interest and I felt that a personal touch would be invaluable. It has been.

Nick very soon made me aware in the nicest possible way of the inadequacy of my knowledge of the subject of finances and his friendly, competent and professional manner impressed me, not only at the time, but still does, some 23 years later. I had dealt with banks and other large organisations and they did not impress me and made me feel as if they were doing me a favour instead of giving me a service.

When I told Nick that it was my intention to retire at 60, he smiled and told me that I would and he made that possible in a way I would never have done on my own. He formulated plans, put them to me, explaining all the risks and the benefits involved and why we should do it and then invested in a range of companies of varying potential, giving me a mixture of high-yield and 'safer' investments rather than putting ' all our eggs in one basket'. He always made it very clear that it could all go wrong and I was under no illusion that I was on an easy ride. But he monitors these and advises me of any changes we need to make and puts those into place for me.

Nick proved to me from very early on in our dealings, that he provides a personal touch and is watching my interests continually, by contacting me when he thinks we need to make alterations to my portfolio and visiting me to explain what he proposes and to put the changes in place.

Nick takes the burden of finances off my shoulders. I have trusted him for 23 years now and he has always managed my affairs in a most professional manner and has certainly enabled me to retire in a position I would not have even nearly obtained on my own. I find that banks and large organisations are impersonal and care only for the company. Nick is there on the end of the 'phone at any time and will always visit me at home within hours of my requests. It is a truly personal service and he retains my personal details in his head and I trust him completely. I was sufficiently satisfied with Nick to recommend him to several friends who are now happily in his care.

A. W. NEULS - March 2008

As a result of a change in my personal circumstances, and at what was a very difficult time for me, it was a relief when Nick stepped in to help with regard to my personal investments, and also those of my mother.

At this worrying time, it was a comfort to know that Nick was supportive and sympathetic to my situation, and as a result of his help I now feel more confident and reassured with regard to the handling of my financial affairs.

Nick suggests certain parameters to which I should adhere with regard to my personal expenditure, which is good for me.  As well as his kindness and understanding, his duty to provide sound financial advice is paramount.

He is always contactable, returning my calls promptly if he is not available when I ring, which I also find very reassuring.

I am extremely happy with the financial service that Nick currently provides, and envisage that our association will continue for years to come.
